Designed by André Groult around 1912, this swirling floral motif adorned the walls of the Groult couple’s salon in their Paris apartment on rue d’Anjou. A period photograph shows Nicole Groult posing before this décor.

André Mauny (1909-1990), fils d’un passementier et diplômé de l’École des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, fonde en 1933 la maison Mauny avec le décorateur Robert Caillard. Passionné par les papiers peints anciens, il développe une collection unique mariant les grands classiques du XVIIIe siècle et l’élégance de l’Art déco.
